Infographics are not a modern invention. They have been effective communications tools across the ages.
During the Crimean War, famed nurse Florence Nightingale prepared an information visual to persuade Queen Victoria to provide more assistance for injured soldiers in military hospitals. She -- and her infographic -- were successful.
